Nkupane (Mabhuti) Ntswane’s love of life and adventure inspires his friends and mentors to make the best of every situation.
Mabhuti grew up on a farm where he had to milk cows from 4am every day to help support his ailing mother. He was unable to finish school in the Eastern Cape and returned to Klipheuwel, where by the grace of God, was given the opportunity to improve his life. He loves learning and discovered a passion for sharing his skills after completing a Basic Computer Training course at the Fisantekraal Centre for Development (FCD).
The Basic Computer course at FCD equipped and inspired him to share his new-found knowledge with confidence. As a volunteer with Inside Out Community Transformation, he took on the responsibility of a local primary school’s computer programme, offering computer tuition at Klippie Kids daily. Mabhuti said that he really enjoyed studying at FCD because ‘it builds me up personally and spiritually. The staff make me feel at home, and care about and respect the studentsâ€.
Several months after completing the Basic Computer Course, Mabhuti returned to FCD to pursue another one of his passions and successfully FCD’s Bake for Profit course. His life in full-time missions, leaves little time for business, but Mabhuti embraced the learning experience as a stepping stone to achieving his dream of starting his own business. The attached photograph shows Mabhuti with the first batch of muffins he baked to sell to his soccer and wrestling team mates.
