“You would think you know everything about working and being employed but at FCD we were taught so much more on how to actually present yourself in the workplace and how imperative it is to act professionally and practice punctuality,” said Nadine van Niekerk on completion of her Job Readiness programme last year.

Soon after completing her training Nadine was given a permanent position doing administration at IStaff, doing administration, data capture, searching the net, typing of emails. She says “Soon I’ll be doing Cold Calling which I am excited about.”

Nadine confirmed that the training contributed to her success saying “firstly I had access to the internet at FCD and taught how to apply for jobs online – so I could apply for it. The training I received in Computer Skills was beneficial because my job requires me to work on the Internet, Outlook and Word every day. So the training definitely helped me get comfortable in what I do so now I have knowledge and I am willing to gain more.”
