While the aspiring Bake for Profit entrepreneurs hone their skills in kitchens and bakeries, Frail Care students gain valuable practical training at institutions and the Job Readiness learners participate in retail job shadows, the training centre continues offering Office Basics training for candidates with a desire to equip themselves for a future in the corporate world.
This course includes Call Centre training with intermediary PC skills and Office Practice.
Throughout the 8 week programme, learners have plenty of opportunities to practice the skills that they are taught as they capture information for the centre, assist with printing, binding and filing of documentation, reception and outbound phoning duties.
During the training, a visit is made to the TFG call centre to expose learners to the opportunities available to them i
n this fast growing industry. On successful completion of their course, these learners are given the chance to prove themselves in job shadows in environments best suited to each learner.
Thanks to the generosity of the Durbanville business community, our learners have had the benefit (and great thrill) of experiencing working in an office environment for the first time.
Nozuko Tyeku (41) from Guguletu, was all smiles during
her job shadow. She was pleased to discover how well the training had prepared her for office work. Nozuko previously worked in a retail bakery.
