The last term has seen our pool of job shadow partners increase across all our training disciplines.
Frail Carers now have the opportunity of completing their practical training at Aristea, Andre van der Walt, Boland, Green Pastures, Klaradyn, Luckhoff, Villa Cortona and now also at Oude Westhoff.
Office Basics learners had as many opportunities to explore on their recent job shadows, ranging from Vodacom’s call centre, Afrimat, Exceed Accounting, Portlands, Nolands Accounting, Mould Empower & Serve (MES), ACI, Tjeka and Spectacle Warehouse.
Our pool of Job Readiness job shadows have also increased offering great new opportunities within the Retail Sector. Students with Grade 12 can now choose to do job shadows at Pep Stores, Markham and other TFG stores or at Mr Price through the Jumpstart programme. We are also grateful for the opportunities our students have to job shadow at Pick n Pay Willowbridge, Graanendal and Soneike; as well as at Spar Welgedacht, Aurora and Kraaifontein.
The Bake for Profit learners were delighted to venture off to the bakeries at SuperSpar Kraaifontein, Pick n Pay Willowbridge, The Banting Shop, Bea’s Rusks and Cater Gold. The bakery manager at the Spar was sad that Carvello would not be spending more time with them as he started working productively from the moment he started with them.
Each job shadow offers our students wonderful opportunities to experience the realities of the workplace. It also gives our partners an opportunity to identify potential staff for their future recruitment needs.
