Start your own baking business to earn an income.

Bake for Profit

Duration: 9 weeks

Course fee: R 300
Cost to student : R300
Cost to Fisantekraal Centre for Development : R4000 to train one person

Baking and business skills learnt and put into practice to enable you to start your own baking business and earn an income.

Entry requirements

Grade 9 (with an ability to read English and perform basic calculations); Some knowledge of baking; and access to a stove to enable baking & selling from week 1 of course

Theory: 08h30 – 16h00 Wednesdays

Baking : 08h30 – 15h30 Thursdays

Baking & Selling to be done during the rest of the week
Course fee: R 300 (of which a 50% deposit is required to confirm attendance)

This is a 9 week course that consists of two days training per week.

On the first day focus will be given to the theoretical side of this course and the second day emphasis will be placed on discipleship as well as practical baking training.

 

The course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes you need to successfully run your own home baking business.

The following recipes are included in the practical training •muffins • Pancakes  • Jam tarts • Bread • Doughnuts • Banana bread • Cupcakes and more

Life Skills sessions and Discipleship ensure that the necessary values and attitudes are developed to lead meaningful lives

Baking Business Plan studies

The Business modules include: Starting your baking business,  Money sums, Banking, Costing, Pricing, Business planning, Managing cash flow

Business skills include costing of products to ensure profitability

Mentorship sessions keep current and past students up to date with the latest baking trends

Melanie Ess

Learners are encouraged to participate in a 3 day job-shadow / work experience training experience during the final week of the course
